Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For (Because) the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
Proverbs 3:25-26
We all get hit with and tempted to give in to “sudden fear.” God has provided a way of escape when things take us by surprise. He tells us He’ll keep our foot from being taken. He’s telling us He’ll protect our faith by reminding us that He’s working all things together for our good. He’s constantly teaching us that He’s trustworthy so we can change the way we react to sudden fear by remembering God’s love for us, and His faithfulness.
When you get tempted to fear, exercise your faith. Stop, take a deep breath, and “let” the peace of God reign in your heart (Colossians 3:15). God’s in control and leading in everything.
