Personalizing The Word Of God

Lately, Annie has been personalizing the Word, and she’s asked me to do the same because she is experiencing the Word at another level in her life. For instance, when we say a scripture and change the pronouns, it feels different in us. It brings the Word down to our level, gives us more boldness and makes us want to do the Word in a whole new way. It also makes our relationship with God much closer and more meaningful. I believe you will be blessed if you personalize scripture.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

Personalized:
I am trusting You Jesus with all my heart; and I am not leaning on my own understanding. I am acknowledging You in all my ways and You are directing my paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Matthew 6:9b-13

Personalized:
Daddy in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

Your kingdom come. Your will be done in my life, as it is in heaven.

Give me this day my daily bread.

And forgive me my debts, as I forgive my debtors.

And lead me not into temptation but deliver me from evil: Amen.
Matthew 6:9b-13

Thanking and praising God in all things (Ephesians 5:20),

Mark

Note: While we may not agree with everything a particular church or Christian group teaches or believes, there are times when we can be blessed by something outside the realm of our current understanding of God.
