Heaven

Heaven – Do you ever feel this way? Sometimes it just hits me more convincingly that the Bible is true and that Heaven is real. It just overwhelms me how accurate the scriptures are regarding man, God and the universe.

My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:2

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:1-3

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Revelation 21:4

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
John 14:2-3

Heaven: It’s Not Of This World

Ann and I were talking this morning about a number of things including Caleb wanting to take on the Anak giants so he could have their land – at 85 years of age he was as strong as ever. Annie said some really neat things. One thing she said was, “That’s the really neat thing about Jesus and Heaven. They’re so not of this world.”

I think about the scriptures God gave us while living in Oregon – they can be seen on the choosingjesuseveryday.com site. We were to memorize and live by the words in those verses. Why? Because they would set us free from the damage that had been done to us by this world and by the lies of the enemy. We were not living the Word. The only way for us to be healed and set free from worldly living patterns and the devil’s lies was to dive into God’s Word.

Not of this world. It’s more than just a bumper sticker. We can live in Jesus while on earth. We can set our affection on things above and be totally transformed and changed by His glory, His beautiful Truth that sets us free. Hallelujah!

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Heaven: The Joy That Is Set Before Us

1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:1-2

Imagine Heaven

“God has a great sense of humor.”

Annie and I are reading the “Imagine Heaven” book. Ann’s reading it for the second time. The book makes us both so happy. It kind of makes me feel like a kid again. Just thinking about how wonderful Heaven will be fills me with such adventuresome thoughts. What awaits us there is occupying more of our minds these days and we invite each of you to pick up a copy of that book.

Heaven – What a day of rejoicing that will be. Have some fun. Buy the book and Imagine Heaven with us. It will make you look up longer and with a renewed sense of anticipation, excitement and joy.

We love you all.

Heaven

The following is taken from airline Captain Dale Black’s near death experience in the book, Imagine Heaven, page 99.

Part of the joy I was experiencing was not only the presence of everything wonderful, but the absence of everything terrible. There was no strife, no competition, no sarcasm, no betrayal, no deception, no lies, no murders, no unfaithfulness, no disloyalty, nothing contrary to the light and life and love…The absence of sin was something you could feel. There was no shame, because there was nothing to be ashamed of. There was no sadness because there was nothing to be sad about. There was no need to hide because there was nothing to hide from. It was all out in the open.

Keep looking up, my friends.

The Mark Of The Beast And Heaven

THE RAPTURE; Christ returns for his bride, the church.

It’s really funny to me that I spend any time at all concerned and worried about this earthly life when we are so close to being in Heaven – forever. I mean what a contrast. Why waste time wringing my hands about earth when the most wonderful thing is about to happen?

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Colossians 3:2

Right?

The other day, Ann and I watched a portion of a film that’s coming out in the next few weeks. The documentary, Planet Lockdown, is an interview with former Assistant Director of US Housing and Development, Catherine Austin Fitts. She has quite a resume and is uniquely qualified to share her insights on the topic.

Catherine discusses the all-digital central bank digital currency (CBDC) plan to implement what she calls the “Bible’s Mark Of The Beast” in the world’s major countries in the next two to four years – 2 to 4 years. Most Bible prophecy experts believe the Mark will come at the 3.5 year period in the Tribulation or at the beginning of the Great Tribulation which is the last 3.5 years of the total 7-year Tribulation period.

If that’s true, we are so close to the beginning of the Tribulation when you consider just two-four years from now until the central bank intends to implement the Mark in the major countries of the world.

That is so exciting, people. We’re so close to being with Jesus – forever. Hallelujah!

Look up, your redemption is so near.

Caught Away, rapture of the church, second coming, tribulation ...

Heaven

1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Heaven

“How you think about Heaven affects everything in life — how you prioritize love, how willing you are to sacrifice for the long-term, how you view suffering, what you fear or don’t fear. … I’m convinced we can’t even begin — but we should try — to picture how magnificent, how spectacular, how much fun Heaven will be — how much of what we love about this life and more awaits us in eternity,” he said, adding that he wants his book to instill hope.

“I want people to know how much their Creator loves them, what He’s done for them, the place He’s prepared for us (that’s awaiting us) because it really changes the way you live today. It changes the way you have hope, even for the difficulties of this life.”

Keeping My Eyes On The Prize

He sent his word (Jesus), and healed them (those who believe), and delivered them from their destructions (fear).
Psalm 107:20

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you (put your name here), saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end (to plunder the enemy’s (fear’s) camp).
Jeremiah 29:11

This is so cool. The Holy Spirit is so faithful and awesome. When He shared this with me, I couldn’t wait to get it to you. Truly, God’s infinite love for us knows no bounds.

I couldn’t stop writing so I finally had to hit “Send.” ☺

Casting all your care on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). What an enormous understatement.

Having grown up with so much fear, that I was scared out of my mind so much of the time, I can honestly tell anyone that when you’re scared to death, Jesus is there. It’s true. I know it’s true. Jesus can step into your life and turn it all around if you’re willing to follow and believe Him.

25 Now the Israelites had been saying, “Do you see how this man keeps coming out? He comes out to defy Israel. The king will give great wealth to the man who kills him. He will also give him his daughter in marriage and will exempt his family from taxes in Israel.”

26 David asked the men standing near him, “What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel? Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?”

27 They repeated to him what they had been saying and told him, “This is what will be done for the man who kills him.”

…53 When the Israelites returned from chasing the Philistines, they plundered their camp.

Did you get that? Here’s this giant of an experienced warrior who was scaring all of the troops of Israel. He filled them with fear to the point that no one had courage. They were filled with dismay. They had no idea what they were going to do…

And then David comes along. And David is so full of the Lord, of God’s faithfulness, that he wants to know what he’ll get for killing Goliath. The Lord had so trained up David that the fear of an enemy like Goliath meant nothing to David any more. David had learned to believe the Lord where the others had not. What a contrast. At this point in his life, David’s eyes were now on the prizes God had in store for him. Wow…

Look up, precious Christian. There is no fear for those who have believed and learned to set their eyes on the prize that awaits them. Heaven, Romans 8:28, Jesus and His favor in our lives – All of the promises of God are ours. Rejoice! These are the stones in our slings that will fill us with thoughts of prizes, with looking up and asking, “Tell me again, Lord. What do I get for learning that fear is a lie, that I really can trust in the Lord with all my heart, that I can always believe Him, for being willing to have learned how to follow the Lord into victory after victory?”

Heaven

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. 3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.

Heaven: There Before We Know It

Only in His Presence are my heart and soul restored.*

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
Revelation 21:4

The following is taken from the Chronicles of Narnia series of books, and specifically, from the book, “The Last Battle” by C.S. Lewis.

_______

And soon they found themselves all walking together – and a great, bright procession it was – up toward mountains higher than you could see in this world even if they were there to be seen. But there was no snow on those mountains: there were forests and green slopes and sweet orchards and flashing waterfalls, on above the other, going up forever. And the land they were walking on grew narrower all the time, with a deep valley on each side: and across that valley the land which was the real England grew nearer and nearer.

The light ahead was growing stronger. Lucy saw that a great series of many-colored cliffs led up in front of them like a giant’s staircase. And then she forgot everything else, because Aslan himself was coming, leaping down from cliff to cliff like a living cataract of power and beauty.

And the very first person whom Aslan called to him was Puzzle the Donkey. You never saw a donkey look feebler and sillier than Puzzle did as he walked up to Aslan, and he looked, beside Alan, as small as a kitten looks beside a St. Bernard. The Lion bowed down his head and whispered something to Puzzle at which his long ears went down, but then he said something else at which the ears perked up again. The humans couldn’t hear what he had said either time. Then Aslan turned to them and said:

“You do not yet look so happy as I mean you to be.” Lucy said, “We’re so afraid of being sent away, Aslan. And you have sent us back into our own world so often.” “No fear of that,” said Aslan. “Have you not guessed?” Their hearts leaped, and a wild hope rose within them.

“There was a real railway accident,” said Aslan softly. “Your father and mother and all of you are – as you used to call it in the Shadowlands – dead. The term is over: the holidays have begun. The dream is ended: this is the morning.”

And as He spoke He no longer looked to them like a lion; but the things that began to happen after that were so great and beautiful that I cannot write them. And for us this is the end of all the stories, and we can most truly say that they all lived happily ever after. But for them it was only the beginning of the real story. All their life in this world and all their adventures in Narnia had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.

Stirred Up In The Lord

Inline image
I had another migraine yesterday afternoon. It was different in the way it presented. Got up this morning reeling a little bit from the impact it’s having on my brain and body. I made us coffee. We went out back and looked up at the gorgeous moon and stars. I was feeling pretty wimpy when the Lord began to stir me up in His Word. I love it when the Lord takes our weaknesses and pumps His power into us. Anyway, I got all fired up in the Lord. Man oh man, He is everything. His truths dispel fear and give us great courage in the Spirit.

Be strong and of a good courage…Only be thou strong and very courageous…Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: For the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest…Only be strong and of a good courage.
From Joshua 1

Don’t spend your time down here on earth. Look up and let Heaven stir you up in the things of the Lord. Truly, Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

Hallelujah and Amen!

8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

There’s So Much More Up ABOVE

I was out back this morning working on a couple of kitchen chairs I’m repainting. I looked up and saw a fairly large bob cat about 15 feet away partially hidden by a bush. While we’ve heard about them, we’ve never seen one. It reminded me of all the things that go on around us as we carry out our busy lives with work, sleep, travel, etc. What fun and a blessing it was to see that bob cat.

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:1-3

There are two realms in this life. There is the natural, earthly realm, and the spiritual realm. The Bible states that the invisible, spiritual realm is more real and important than this earthly realm. In His Word, God tells us that Jesus came to give us life – life more abundant and free. The Heavenly realm where Jesus now resides has infinite life for those who choose to seek Him. It’s so easy for us to seek this natural realm with our whole heart. But, there’s so much more up ABOVE in the Heavenly realm. Open the Bible. Apply what it says to your life and let all of Heaven give you Jesus Who is the abundant life.

I heard a Jewish fellow say something beautiful yesterday. In the verse that talks about “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. They shall prosper that love thee,” the word “prosper” has nothing to do with money or things. Instead, it means that those who pray for the peace of Jerusalem will have “heart peace.” Isn’t that wonderful?

The abundant life Jesus has for us has much more to do with spiritual blessings than it does with money, worldly success, and the accumulation of things. If we have Jesus’ peace in our hearts, we won’t feel the need for things. When He fills our hearts, by comparison, everything else loses its importance.

38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” 41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed-or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:38-42

Inline image

Oh, the riches of His glory.

Look up and enjoy the abundant life. Let Jesus give you heart peace…Nothing in this natural realm compares to Him.
