Praising and Thanking God In All Things

I was stubborn when it came to praising God in all things – BIG mistake. I didn’t want to thank Him in everything.  Honestly, I thought I’d look like a fool (There’s that yucky, intimidating, shackling fear of man snare, again).  I was bitter and justifiably proud of it even though I was so bound and oppressed that I could only turn my neck part way in either direction.  Fun, huh?

His Word tells me to do it so I may as well praise God in all things.  I mean, not doing so hadn’t worked out for me. ☺

I’ve learned that I’m not the first person who ever had a hard time praising God in all things.  Hurt often makes it difficult to move ahead with praising Him in all things.  At times it doesn’t seem to make sense.  I decided to praise Him in all things and it’s opened up a completely different understanding of, and relationship with, Jesus.  It’s been nothing short of a miracle for me – amazing!

Whether you’re going through a battle or not, the best thing you can do today is to begin praising the Lord.

When you praise and do not feel like it or want to do it, that’s a sacrifice of praise, and we do it anyway, that’s when God begins to work on our behalf.

1. Psalm 22:3  Praise is where God lives.

2. Psalm 100:4  Praise gives us access into the throne room.

3. Isaiah 61:3  Praise changes your garments.  He gives us the garments of praise for the spirit of heaviness.

4. Psalm 50:23  Praise brings deliverance.

5. Psalm 59:7  Praise puts us under God’s protection, He becomes our refuge. Psalm 1:6-8  Praise causes God to preserve us.

6. Psalm 149:6-9  Praise is our weapon of war.  The moment we praise the Lord, the demons go into chaos.

7. 2 Chronicles 20:22  Praise releases God to do battle for you.

God bless,

Mark

Our Faithful God Inhabits Our Praises

Boy, I got really attacked spiritually last night and my sleep ended with another overwhelming, hopeless nightmare.  As a result, I got up “feeling” pretty defeated.  I have to admit, these kinds of nights occur less frequently than they used to.

Anyway, I got up not “feeling” like I wanted to thank and praise my Lord – Jesus is showing me feelings don’t have to control me/us.  The Holy Spirit has been so faithful to help me respond (like a reflex) to such defeating feelings with praising God that I began to lift up praises in my heart to Jesus.

Wow, Ann and I came out to the living room to have our morning coffee and the Lord gave us a beautiful time in Him.  We put on a Marty Nystrom song (A Broken Spirit And A Contrite Heart) the Holy Spirit reminded me of and just listened as the Holy Spirit kept giving us so many truths that strengthened us – He was telling us about all of the work He’s done in us to build His love, compassion, hope, mercy, peace and rest in our hearts.  We had so much joy we began crying so hard we couldn’t speak at times.  It was so heavenly and fortifying.

God is SO faithful, precious people.  SO FAITH-FULL.

Jesus reminded me that where He’s taking us is to the place where we’ll always be able to sleep in the storms of life.  Only He can do such a work in us, dear ones.  We’re just learning how to lay down in the boat.  No storm can harm us when we have Jesus, the Prince of Peace, with us in our boat (our lives).

Truly, He restoreth my soul…Asleep in the storms.

God bless,

Mark

Praise Reminder

I was thinking about a situation in bed this morning, and began to take on some “care.”  Easy to get tricked into taking on “care.” ☺

That’s when the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart telling me to thank and praise Him for the situation.  Wow, it removed the care from me and gave me peace.  Thanking and praising God in all things can really disarm fear and care.

God is so good. ☺

I will praise the Lord no matter what happens.  I will constantly speak of his glories and grace.  I will boast of all his kindness to me.  Let all who are discouraged take heart.  Let us praise the Lord together and exalt his name.
Psalm 34:1-3 The Living Bible (TLB)

In every thing give thanks:  for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1 Peter 5:7

God bless,

Mark

Praise God

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart:  and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30

Bringing God back into the picture changes everything…Helps turn apparent mountains into molehills.  ☺

There are times when fear and confusion may attempt to test your faith, overwhelm you, and twist your thinking.  Maybe you’re not getting an answer you need from God about something that seems pretty important to you.

The Holy Spirit often reminds me to let go of thoughts that would cause me to become concerned and, out of frustration, to take matters into my own hands.  He reminds me to thank and praise Him in all things.  He knows that if I’ll follow His lead to thank and praise Him that any burden trying to weigh on me will be transferred to Him and His care.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise:  be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
Psalm 100:4

In every thing give thanks:  for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18

Thank and praise Him in all things.  It’s good, Godly advice.

God bless,

Mark

Beginning The Week With Adoration And Praise

23 Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day.  24 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.  25 For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.  26 For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens.  27 Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his dwelling place.  28 Ascribe to the LORD, all you families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.  29 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him. Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.  30 Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.  31 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!”
1 Chronicles 16:23-31

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:  2 To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,
Psalm 92:1-2

God bless,

Ever feel like this?  “Wow, this is really bad.  How am I going to deal with this situation?”

By thanking and praising God.  “Mark, that sounds crazy.  How can I possibly thank and praise God for this really hard situation?

Well, let me share with you why you should be praising God right now.  There are two reasons I can think of, immediately.  The devil wants us tied up in his oppressive chains.  Also, satan knows that God inhabits the praises of His people and he does not want God to help you.  It’s really that simple.

Hello Precious People,

This actually happened to me just this morning…

At times, I’m tricked into thinking, “I got this.”  I can be unaware that I’m actually operating out of pride.  I can get so bogged down with a situation that I forget to call on God, to praise Him, to bring His power on the scene.

I’m still learning that if I try to handle challenging situations in my own strength, in my own understanding, instead of thanking and praising God for the circumstance, I can end up stressed out.  When I thank and praise God for the situation, somehow, God is brought into the situation (Psalm 22:3; He inhabits our praises), the stress is released and I can actually feel God taking over.  All the resources of His realm become available to help me.  I stop feeling alone in the situation.  Suddenly, I feel lighter as though the care the situation has brought on me is transferred to God.  And, He works all things for my good.  For me, it doesn’t get any better than this.  What relief is available to us.  Oh, praise God, thank you Jesus.
